Station Hand | Winton | QLD

Cattle breeding operation looking for a reliable, mature, and enthusiastic station hand for the 2026 season. (Feb/March – December).

We are a family run station one hour outside of Winton QLD. 

On this family run property you will:

• Work closely with the owner as you will be the only staff member for the season, except the occasional day worker.

• Be comfortable working alone and in a team

• Be willing to maintain a safe working environment

• Communicate openly and respectfully

This role encompasses all aspects of station work including: maintenance and improvements of fences and waters; weed control; operation of heavy machinery (loaders/graders); feeding of supplements, and general stockwork. At times you may also be caretaking the property when the owners are away.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous cattle experience and ability to ride and muster on motorbikes

• Basic welding skills

• Ability to do basic machinery maintenance

• Some experience operating heavy vehicles and machinery (loader, dozer, grader, skid steer, truck licence)

• Experience in fencing repairs and/or construction

• Some experience in water infrastructure (windmills, solar pumps, poly repairs, troughs, and tanks)

• Modern, comfortable, air-conditioned, self contained accommodation provided.

• Wage negotiable based on experience.
