Job Description

International Livestock Export is a family owned agricultural company which operates feedlots, farms and quarantine facilities throughout Western Australia.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual or couple, passionate about cattle and wanting to grow their skills in intensive operations based in Broome, Western Australia.

This facility has the capacity to hold around 9,000 cattle for preparations of live export and services the domestic markets as a transit facility.

The Broome Common is located 10kms from Broome, an ideal balance of lifestyles, remote lifestyle as the Depot sits on 2,900 acres allowing horse paddocks and background ability with the convenience of the town services at your doorstep, great fishing and beaches.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinating staff daily on appropriate daily tasks and managing time for duties required in preparation for export and domestic markets.

  • Provide leadership and contribute to a safe working and team environment for employees, contractors and customers.

  • Manage daily livestock checks and procedures, identifying any health issues including the recording of daily activities. Activities including and not limited to; the unloading of stock and fodder trucks, dipping cattle, drafting, weighing stock, accurate penning and feed supplied.

  • Ensuring documentation and records are accurately completed and in a timely manner.

  • Ensuring good general practices around the depot including clean water troughs, manure removal, general maintenance of infrastructure and upkeep of machinery and work areas as required.

  • Keeping records up to date on NLIS transfers, stock inductions and dispatches and records pertaining to compliance requirements for DPIRD, LPA, and ASEL.

  • Ensuring documentation is filed correctly, including both paper and electronic documents.

Job Requirements

  • Sound knowledge of cattle and experience is essential.

  • Constantly demonstrate commitment to safe working practices and animal welfare.

  • Strong work ethic, flexible with time required to execute daily tasks

  • Ability to plan and prioritise daily tasks with employees, contractors and customers.

  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team

  • Attention to detail and proficient with computers
