Farm Hand/ Feed Person | Olinda Park | QLD

The Farmhand & Feed Person supports the day-to-day operations of the feedlot, focusing on livestock care, feed preparation, machinery operation, and general farm duties.

This role ensures cattle are well cared for, fed accurately, and the feedlot is maintained to a high standard.

You will be working at our feedlot 'Olinda Park' 50km from Dalby, QLD.

Gibson Grazing is a proud family owned and operated business with involvement in the beef industry for over 50 years. Their properties are located in Queensland.

• Operate feed machinery to deliver accurate rations to livestock.

• Mix, prepare, and monitor feed to meet nutrition requirements.

• Record feeds

• Carry out daily livestock checks, monitoring health, welfare, and behaviour.

• Assist with animal handling, including pen moves, induction, and dispatch.

• Clean, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and feedlot infrastructure.

• Maintain accurate records of feeding, cattle health, and other operational activities.

• Follow all workplace health, safety, and animal welfare standards.

• Assist with general farm duties, including machinery operation, fencing, water checks, and maintenance.

• Keeping provided house and yard clean and tidy.

Skills and Attributes

• Experience operating tractors, loaders, or agricultural machinery

• Understanding of livestock handling and welfare practices.

• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment.

• Reliable, self-motivated, and safety-conscious.

• Willingness to work flexible hours as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous feedlot or cattle handling experience preferred but not essential.

• Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills an advantage.
