We are on the hunt for an experienced and diligent Livestock Hand to join our award-winning lot-feeding team at Kerwee Feedlot located in Jondaryan in Queensland’s Darling Downs region.
Kerwee Feedlot is located approximately 50 km west of Toowoomba, Queensland.

As a Livestock Hand at Stockyard, you’ll become an integral part of our collaborative and supportive team to assist with the livestock operations of Kerwee Feedlot, including:
maintaining accurate daily records, including data entry into StockaID, our livestock management system
general cattle handling
drafting
cutting out
pen riding and moving cattle within the feedlot
cattle inductions
diagnosing animal health with a strong emphasis on animal welfare
general maintenance of facilities
administration of the animal health treatments
Our team work to a 9 on 5 off roster.
You will have proven experience using StockaID and know your way around computer systems, including Microsoft 365 apps. You’ll need good communication skills as you’ll be developing relationships within your team and across the organisation. You should have effective time management skills as you’ll working within a dynamic environment. You should have a good understanding of cattle behaviour and have sharp observation skills to potential health issues quickly.
You should be a self-starter, able to recognise when a job needs doing and get it done.
You must be able to ride and provide your own horse, with horse allowance, stables, paddocks, farrier services, feed, and vaccinations supplied.
Experience within a similar work environment would be highly regarded as well as, knowledge of and ability to work within workplace health and safety and environmental systems.
