Yadlamalka Pastoral Company is seeking a motivated Station Overseer to lead day-to-day operations across our Yadlamalka and Wilkatana properties (140,000+ ha).

This is a hands-on leadership role for a mixed-livestock professional ready to manage premium cattle and sheep programs in the Flinders Ranges.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Livestock Management: In consultation with the Station Manager lead the day-to-day operations of cattle (Black Angus) and sheep operations, including mustering, processing, and herd/flock health (Dorper and Merino).
  • Infrastructure: Maintain and further develop, state-of-the-art water systems, ongoing new fencing program, yard building, and improve internal road network.

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and train a small team, ensuring a high-standard safety culture and low-stress stock handling.

  • Operations: Be responsible for executing the operational side of the management plans, Coordinate contractors as required and maintain accurate digital records.

Job Requirements

  • Experience: Proven background in managing large-scale sheep operations.

  • Skills: Competent in 2-wheel motorbike work, 4WD operation, grader and front-end loader operations, solar bore systems and general mechanical/fencing maintenance.

  • Leadership: A practical problem-solver with strong communication skills and computer literacy.

  • Licences: Valid driver’s licence (HR, Bike and firearms licences highly regarded).
