Paspaley Pastoral is currently seeking an overseer for their property 

  • You will be required to monitor work goals and anticipate potential problems and the best course of action.

  • Provide leadership and develop team performance and communicate to the team effectively.

  • Take ownership of the day to day operations involved with running a property. 

  • The Overseer must be able to stand in for the manager in his absence if required.

Bunnamagoo is an historic property, settled in the 1820s. It comprises 2030 hectares in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales near the village of Rockley about 50 km south of Bathurst.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

  • To assist the Manager in the day to day operations of all enterprises at Bunnamagoo which includes prime lamb production and opportunity cattle fattening

  • Supervise and direct other staff and contractors in their duties - 3-4 staff.

  • Assist and monitor all livestock husbandry duties including reporting accurate stock numbers

  • Follow work practices for WHP/ESI legislation and NLIS regulations

  • Record keeping of Chemical usage and Vaccine and Drench dosages keeping in line with LPA guidelines and /or label recommendations

  • Stock checks, particularly during calving and lambing and checking on feed and water supply, reporting back to the manager any relevant occurrences.

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of property, plant and equipment as required.

  • Operation of plant and equipment

  • Ensure all livestock and other animals are treated humanely and that WHS work practices are followed

Job Requirements

  • At least 5 years experience in sheep and cattle husbandry

  • Current Drivers licence and experience in the operation of Quad motorbikes

  • A well organised person who takes pride in their surroundings and work

  • Experience in machinery operation.

  • Good team of working dogs, with particular focus on working sheep and lambs

  • An advantage would be to have current WHS certificates including Chemcert and a current HR licence.
