We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Feedlot & Farming Technician to join our agricultural team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily feedlot operations and general farm activities to ensure optimal livestock health, productivity, and farm efficiency.

This role will also see support to pastoral development with crop production activities across a number of projects.

You will be based on Sondella Station, 60km north-west of Moranbah in Central Queensland.

The Angus Pastoral Company is an innovative, rapidly growing, family owned and operated beef business. We operate 4 stations in Central and Northern Queensland with breeding, backgrounding and feedlot operations. The company also has an export accredited abattoir located alongside the feedlot operation, marketing high quality beef around the globe.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

This role will have you working across the following:

  • Monitor and maintain livestock health, nutrition, and welfare

  • Manage feeding schedules and ration distribution

  • Operate and maintain farm and feedlot equipment

  • Record and report livestock performance and production data

  • Maintain cleanliness of feedlot pens and farm facilities

  • Support crop production activities (planting, irrigation, harvesting)

  • Ensure compliance with safety and biosecurity regulations

  • Monitor and report to Manager on weather, soil and seasonal conditions

  • Consultation and liaison with Agronomist & VET.

  • Advise Manager on farming techniques and land management

Job Requirements

The applicant must possess the following:

  • AQF Advanced Diploma, Diploma or equivalent, or at least 3 years relevant and related experience.
  • Previous experience in feedlot or livestock farming preferred

  • Knowledge of animal health and nutrition

  • Ability to operate tractors and other farm machinery

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently

  • Good record-keeping and communication skills

  • Physically fit and willing to work outdoors
