We’re seeking a Governess to start ASAP at Blina Station, Kimberley Region, 300km from Broome and 130km from Derby.
There are two families whose children you will be working with; Two girls one in year 3 and one in Year 5 (enrolled with Kimberley School of the Air).
This role would suit someone who enjoys working with children and could be ideal for a uni student on a gap year, someone studying education, or a person with childcare experience looking for a unique outback adventure.
Blina Station runs 25,000 red brahman cattle and is in a stunning part of the West Kimberley Region, close to the Gibb River Road with its beautiful Gorges and waterfalls.
During the mustering season, which runs from April to November about 15 people call Blina home.
During the mornings, you will supervise and support during their School of the Air lessons, following the learning program provided by their teachers.
This includes:
Helping supervise on-air lessons and school activities
Assisting with reading, writing and learning tasks
Keeping the classroom space organised
Communicating with teachers and parents when needed
Afternoons are more relaxed and focused on activities with the boys such as:
Arts and crafts
Baking and cooking
Outdoor play and sport
Horse riding and exploring the station
The aim is to create a fun, supportive environment for learning and play. The role is welcoming and well supported.

A good communicator and role model
Horse experience is a bonus, but not essential.
Additionally, you will spend some time in Broome attending School Camp with the family, where you will engage in home tutor support and can socialise with other governesses and families while the children attend school activities each school day with their teachers.
