Property Manager – Macintyre Station, Inverell

Palgrove is a highly regarded Australian seedstock and commercial cattle business with a proud history spanning more than 50 years. Known for our commitment to quality genetics, disciplined operations and continual improvement, we are seeking an experienced Property Manager to lead Macintyre Station near Inverell.

This is a senior, hands‑on operational leadership role suited to someone who is structured, organised and accountable, executes consistently and builds capable teams.

About Macintyre

Located 35km north of Inverell, Macintyre Station spans 9,508 hectares and is a key hub of Palgrove’s Ultrablack breeding program.

The property supports a large stud and commercial breeding operation, including Angus, Ultrablack and Brangus herds, alongside extensive joining and AI programs.

With a carrying capacity of approximately 8,500 AE, a mix of fertile basalt and alluvial soils, and established irrigation and improved pastures, Macintyre is well equipped for breeding, backgrounding and finishing cattle.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

As Property Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day‑to‑day management and performance of Macintyre Station. You will lead people, cropping and infrastructure operations in line with Palgrove’s systems, safety standards and production objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead, support and develop team members through coaching, mentoring and structured development opportunities

  • Plan, coordinate and oversee daily farm operations, including work planning and contractor management

  • Manage cropping and pasture programs to optimise productivity and alignment with business plans

  • Deliver maintenance programs and capital works projects, ensuring assets are well maintained and improvements are completed on time and on budget

  • Support the Ultrablack Seedstock Manager and Livestock Assistant Manager in their livestock programs

  • Prepare accurate operational and financial reports to support decision‑making and business performance

  • Maintain strong safety, environmental and legislative compliance across all activities

  • Foster a positive, engaged and high‑performing team culture with a strong focus on safety and accountability

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in a farm operations leadership role
  • Hands-on with a proactive approach, strong work ethic and commitment to safety

  • Confident and supportive leader with a passion for mentoring others

  • High level of initiative and an eye for continuous improvement

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
