Due to an internal promotion the opportunity has become available for the position of Assistant Feedlot Manager at Whaka Feedlot in the Dalby District.
Reporting to the Feedlot Manager, this is a vital hands-on role that is responsible for the daily management of feedlot operations.
You will be working 30min drive east of Dalby at our Whaka feedlot.

The Assistant Manager is an important link between the operational and administrative functions of our business and will have key responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
Lead and co-ordinate the livestock team in the animal health management of cattle and oversee livestock related activities (e.g. arrival, induction, animal health, treatments, drafting and dispatch) as required.
Operation and maintenance of stock & site watering systems and notify management of any supply breakdowns.
Assist with bunk calling, feeding, batching and milling.
Oversee the co-ordination of machinery and maintenance/service requirements as needed.
Ensure livestock systems (Stockaid, FY3000, Feedbunk) are updated by the livestock team with accurate details.
Ensure the feedlot and staff comply with NFAS, EPA and licensing requirements.
Ensure all work is being undertaken in line with WHS policies and procedure.
Feedlot knowledge of operations preferred but not essential.
Knowledge and passion for high standards of animal welfare.
Excellent communication skills
Experience in consulting with external veterinary and nutritional consultants.
Ability to think creatively and problem solve when required.
Knowledge of or ability to learn and operate feedlot related software (Stockaid, FY3000, Feedbunk, Digi-Star)
Current Drivers Licence
