A terrific opportunity is available for a motivated and experienced Property Manager / Sheep & Cropping Operator to join a family-run 5,000-acre sheep and fodder cropping operation near Yetman in northern NSW, approximately 50km south of Goondiwindi.

Owned and operated by brothers Henry and family, the property runs approximately 3,000 Merino ewes joined to Poll Dorset and Coolalee rams, alongside irrigated and dryland fodder cropping programs supporting fat lamb production.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in running livestock and machinery, and is looking for a long-term opportunity in a picturesque rural setting with excellent lifestyle benefits including fishing, camping and hunting around the nearby Macintyre River.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

The successful applicant will take on a hands-on role across all aspects of the sheep and cropping operation including:

  • Mustering and handling sheep

  • Drenching and animal health work

  • Fencing and general property maintenance

  • Operating modern machinery and equipment

  • Tractor work including spraying and planting

  • Working with irrigation and fodder cropping programs

  • Supporting busy seasonal operations including shearing and sowing

The operation uses:

  • 8530 John Deere tractor

  • New side-by-side vehicle

  • Motorbikes and quads

Applicants with their own working dogs will be highly regarded.

Job Requirements

To be considered for the role, applicants should ideally have:

  • Sheep and livestock handling experience

  • Cropping and machinery operating experience

  • Ability to work independently and manage day-to-day operations

  • Good communication and organisational skills

  • A strong work ethic and positive attitude

  • Current driver’s licence

This role would suit a self-motivated person who enjoys rural life and takes pride in maintaining high standards across livestock and farming operations.
