Avilion Bull Depot is seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team and assist with the daily preparation and management of stud bulls for sale.

This is a great opportunity for someone with an excellent work ethic, who is reliable to become part of a well-established family entity in a long term position.

John and Nikki Cleary, have established a bull feeding depot 20 minutes west of Warwick on Avilion, Greymare Qld. This involves the socialisation and backgrounding of sale bulls for Valera Vale Droughtmasters.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

  • You will be reporting to and working alongside the owner and the successful applicant will present with some property maintenance and machinery operation experience or a willingness to learn

  • You will be involved in the daily station hand duties including: stud processes of weighing and scanning cattle, pen monitoring and cleaning of feed troughs, feeding livestock including feed mixes and lick runs, maintenance of fences, weed control, stock waters and other property maintenance as required.

  • Farming activities will include but not limited to planting, cultivating and chemical application.

  • Supporting the team with various farm tasks as required

Job Requirements

  • Experience working with livestock and farm machinery is preferred

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to learn

  • Must have a current manual drivers licence

  • Working with one of the largest Droughtmaster studs, Valera Vale Droughtmasters in preparing there paddock and sale bulls each year.

  • Close to the township of Warwick - 30km (on farm accommodation is not provided)
