An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated qualified Station Mechanic to join a large pastoral operation based at Longford Station Wagyu, Bendemeer NSW.
The role entails the maintenance and repair of all station equipment, vehicles, yards and registrations. The fleet includes earthmoving equipment, work utes, mowers and gardening gear, pivots and pumps and firefighters and spray rigs.
"Producers of quality Full Blood Wagyu cattle" - Longford Station Pty Ltd owns and operates a substantial Japanese Black Wagyu breeding and production operation at Longford Station, Bendemeer NSW, in the South Western New England Tablelands. The breeding herd consists of approximately 2,100 Full Blood breeding females plus around 200 ET recipient females.
Longford Station consists of approximately 7,300 hectares of pasture improved high altitude grazing country. The production is also currently supported by approximately 350 hectares of irrigated pastures and fodder cropping.
Maintenance and repair of station vehicles
Serving tractors and dozers
Maintenance of pumps and irrigation pivots
Upkeep of firefighting equipment
Repairs and maintenance of cattle yards
General station equipment maintenance
Preventative maintenance scheduling
Ordering parts and workshop supplies
Managing vehicle registrations and service records
The applicant must hold a current drivers license, a mechanics qualification and at least 5 years experience in a similar role.
Qualified mechanic with strong mechanical experience and troubleshooting skills
A systems-based approach to maintenance
Good record-keeping and organisational skills
The ability to work independently and take initiative
