An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and experienced Stationhand and livestock transport operator to join our family owned thoroughbred stud, cattle and farming enterprise in the NSW South-West Slopes, commencing in LATE AUGUST.
This is a unique and highly diverse role that would suit someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and is looking to be part of an expanding agricultural business.
Located in the picturesque South West Slopes region of NSW, our family owned enterprise spans approximately 6,000 acres of highly productive arable country, featuring gently undulating hills, improved pastures, cropping country and stunning rural views.
The business comprises a diverse mix of thoroughbred breeding, cattle production and broadacre farming, providing employees with exposure to a wide range of agricultural operations throughout the year.
Situated on Moppity Road between the thriving regional centres of Young, Harden and Boorowa, the property offers the perfect balance of rural lifestyle and modern convenience.
The nearby town of Young is just a 20 minute drive away and provides supermarkets (IGA, Aldi, Woolworths, Big W, Bunnings), cafés, restaurants, sporting facilities, medical services, schools and all essential amenities. Harden offers rail connections to Sydney and Melbourne, while Boorowa is renowned for its friendly country community and relaxed lifestyle.

Commencing in late August, the successful applicant will play a key role in our annual breeding season, primarily transporting valuable thoroughbred mares and foals to leading stallion farms throughout the Hunter Valley and Victoria before returning them home after covers.
From September through to November/early December, the role is expected to involve multiple transport trips per week, with additional opportunities to transport yearlings to major sales at other times of the year including Sydney, the Gold Coast and Adelaide.
Outside of transport duties, the successful applicant will be involved across all areas of our horse, cattle and broad-acre farming operations.
Driving and operating horse transport vehicles.
Loading, unloading and handling valuable thoroughbred mares, foals, weanlings and yearlings.
Assisting with horse breeding and stud operations.
Cattle handling and husbandry.
Operating tractors, machinery and farm equipment.
Feed mixing and distribution to livestock.
Fencing, maintenance and general farm duties.
Assisting with sowing, harvesting and grain cartage.
Supporting the wider team across all facets of the business.
Essential Requirements:
HR driver's licence.
Proven experience driving livestock or horse transport vehicles.
Extensive horse handling experience and confidence working with young and valuable stock.
Excellent stockmanship and animal welfare standards.
Strong work ethic, reliability and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to be flexible and assist wherever required.
Highly Regarded:
Horse and cattle handling experience.
Machinery operation experience.
General farming background.
HR licence essential. HC or MC licence highly regarded.
Mechanical aptitude.
A diverse role across horses, cattle and cropping.
