Job Description

We are seeking a Bore Runner to join the team at Murranji Station, NT. You will be joining a crew of 6 including a Grader Driver, Ringers, Cook and a Manager.
 
The applicant must have some experience with solar pumps (Lorentz and Grundfos) and electrical skills. Experience using Farmbot monitoring systems App also looked on favourably.
 
This hands-on role is primarily responsible for maintaining the station's extensive solar and diesel water infrastructure over 1 million acres, whilst also supporting workshop and general station operations when required.
 
This is a permanent position and not available to Working Holiday Visa Holders (Backpackers) or overseas applicants.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operation, maintenance and repair of Lorentz and Grundfos solar pumping systems across the property. Approximately 90% of the station's 27 bores are solar-powered, with a small number of diesel bores remaining in operation.

  • Conduct routine bore runs to monitor water infrastructure and ensure reliable water supply for livestock.

  • Scheduling and monitoring via Farmbot monitoring systems App. 
     
     
    Observe and report general property maintenance requirements during bore runs, including fencing, waters and livestock health issues.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to pumps, pipework, tanks, troughs and associated infrastructure.

  • Maintain accurate records of bore performance, repairs and maintenance activities.

  • Assist in the station workshop when required, undertaking servicing, mechanical maintenance and parts replacement on vehicles, plant and machinery.

  • Support the wider station team with operational tasks as required throughout the year.

Job Requirements

  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude is essential.

  • Previous Bore Runner experience is highly regarded, however applicants with basic mechanical and electrical skills will be considered, with training provided.

  • Experience using Farmbot monitoring systems App also looked on favourably.
  • Ability to operate station machinery and equipment safely and carry out routine maintenance.

  • Current manual driver's licence required.

  • Truck licence and other machinery tickets highly desirable.

  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to workplace safety.

  • Ability to identify and report general property maintenance requirements, including fencing and livestock health issues.

  • Positive attitude with a willingness to work as part of a team.

  • Respectful, energetic, reliable and self-motivated.

  • Open-minded, eager to learn and willing to take direction.
