We're seeking a reliable, hands-on Boreman to keep stock water running across a large working cattle property.
Water is the lifeblood of the operation, so this is a key role for someone who takes pride in doing the job properly and isn't afraid of a long bore run.
Millungera Station, 1.5hrs from Julia Creek and 3hrs from Cloncurry, is a massive, historic 342,000-hectare beef cattle property in northwest Queensland, Australia, known for its large herd (around 50,000) and significant water resources from the Flinders and Saxby Rivers.
After operating for over 160 years, it was recently sold by the Acton family in late 2025 to the Hughes family (Georgina Pastoral Co), marking a significant corporate-scale land transaction in Australia's beef industry.
Servicing and repairing solar pumps, diesel/electric pumps, and generators
Maintaining tanks, troughs, poly and steel pipelines, and float valves
Locating and fixing leaks and washouts, keeping waters clean and stock-ready
Monitoring water levels and reporting issues to management
Basic fencing, station maintenance, and yard work as required (with the support of the stock camp)
Keeping accurate records of bore checks and repairs
Mechanical aptitude — comfortable pulling apart pumps and mills
Experience with solar, diesel and submersible pumps (or keen to learn)
Welding and fabrication skills an advantage
Current manual driver's licence; 4WD experience essential
Able to work autonomously in a remote setting and use your own initiative
Reliable, safety-conscious, and physically fit
Prior station/bore experience highly regarded
You must be reliable, honest, and self-motivated. As well as neat and tidy, organised, and punctual.

Ability to operate a Skidder and drive bore drains/clean bore drains in order to maintain water flowing down bore drains
