Experienced and practical Feedlot Manager required to lead day-to-day operations in our expanding feedyard. Currently licenced to 5,200 SCU with approval to increase to 17,600 SCU and currently in the process of expanding over the next 5 years.
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, while supporting, mentoring and educating a growing team.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be just as comfortable working alongside the team as you are planning workloads, solving problems and driving continuous improvement.
You will lead the operating rhythm of the feedlot, including livestock health and welfare, induction and dispatch flow, pen performance, feeding and commodities, maintenance co-ordination, workforce leadership, WHS, and compliance.
You’ll also play a key role in strengthening systems, standards, and team capability as we grow.
Our business is a diverse family-owned feedlot, backgrounding, breeding and farming operation located one hour drive north of Emerald in Central Queensland.
We have a strong customer focus and pride ourselves on offering professional feeding services.
We supply beef onto Australian supermarket shelves and major export markets. Our organisation has grown rapidly over the last 5 years and is now in a new expansion phase.
Proven experience in feedlot management, or comparative role in other industries may also be considered
Excellent leadership and team management skills with a demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop people.
Strong planning and problem solving acumen.
Strong understanding of cattle production systems, animal welfare and pastoral operations.
Experience delivering operational plans, capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Excellent organisational, planning and reporting skills.
Strong communication abilities.
