We are looking for a Road Train Driver to join our team in Canobie. Canobie Station is located 200km north of Cloncurry, in the Gulf Region.
Canobie Station is located 200km north of Cloncurry and 280km south of Normanton. The property is a breeding station running predominantly Brahman cattle.
The Cloncurry River runs through the property which provides permanent water. Canobie has a good mixture of black soils and lighter red country, and the properties Alcala and Lyrian Downs are operated as part of the Canobie aggregation.
Transportation of cattle as directed both on and off the station
Handle cattle in line with AACo animal welfare standards.
Be responsible for loading cattle at appropriate numbers.
Adhere to current fatigue management guidelines.
Complete all paperwork as required e.g. Livestock cartage book etc.
Conduct general property observations while driving
Carry out road train maintenance - Carry out a pre-start check daily or before each trip taken.
Maintain road train serviceability and ensure the vehicle is in roadworthy condition.
Monitor fuel and oil usage and record fuel in fuel log sheets
Monitor spare part usage
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Current MC driver's license (Australian Issued)
Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous
Ability to work both alone and as part of a team
