Lemontree Feedlot is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Stockperson / Pen Rider to join our team.

We are a 20,000 head family-owned feedlot at Millmerran, with a strong, long-term client base and a team that takes pride in doing things properly.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with cattle, has a good eye for livestock and wants to be part of a business that is continuing to grow.

McNamee Partners operates Lemontree Feedlot, a modern 20,000 head beef feedlot located at Millmerran, approximately one hour south of Toowoomba.

We are continuing to grow and invest in the business, our people and our facilities.

• Riding pens and monitoring cattle health, welfare and performance

• Identifying cattle that aren't right and taking appropriate action

• Cattle receiving, induction, drafting and processing

• Administering animal health treatments

• Identifying and treating health issues and injuries

• Monitoring cattle behaviour, condition and performance

• Maintaining accurate animal health and treatment records

• Working closely with the Feedlot Manager, Feeders and wider team

• Assisting with general feedlot operations as required

• Following animal welfare, biosecurity and workplace safety procedures

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, knows cattle and wants to do a good job.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Stockperson, Pen Rider or similar livestock role

• Strong cattle handling and animal husbandry skills

• A good eye for changes in cattle health, behaviour and performance

• Confidence identifying and responding to animal health issues

• A competent horse rider

• Own horse preferred but not essential

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Good communication skills

• A reliable, positive and hardworking attitude

• Commitment to high standards of animal welfare

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays as required

Experience with FY3000 is an advantage, but not essential.
