We’re looking for a new team member who enjoys working outdoors, is mechanically minded, and can work independently in a remote rural environment.
As part of our backgrounding and maintence crew, your work will be hands-on, varied, and rewarding.
Our business is a diverse family-owned feedlot, backgrounding, breeding and farming operation located one hour drive north of Emerald in Central Queensland.
We have a strong customer focus and pride ourselves on offering professional feeding services.
We supply beef onto Australian supermarket shelves and major export markets. Our organisation has grown rapidly over the last 5 years and is now in a new expansion phase.
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
Running and monitoring water bores and associated equipment
Carrying out routine bore inspections and basic maintenance
Checking pumps, tanks, pipelines and water levels
Identifying and reporting faults or maintenance issues and fixing where possible
Installing, repairing and maintaining fencing
General property and site maintenance
Operating vehicles, tools and machinery as required
Working safely and efficiently both independently and as part of a team
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience with bore running, pumps or water systems
Has fencing experience and good practical skills
Is mechanically minded and confident using hand and power tools
Holds a current driver's licence
Can work safely in a remote environment
Is reliable, physically fit and willing to get the job done
Full-time employment with an established Central Qld cattle operation
Monday to Friday work with rotational weekend duties
Practical, hands-on work across cattle and property operations
