Farm Hand | Darling Downs | QLD

We are seeking an experienced Farm Hand to join our small, family-run mixed farming and cattle operation on the Darling Downs, Queensland.

Our operation combines cropping for grain and fodder with a 2,000-head cattle feedlot, providing a varied, hands-on role across cropping, machinery operation, cattle work and general farm maintenance.

We are looking for a capable all-rounder who is practical, reliable and confident working independently as well as part of a small team.

This is a full-time position under the Pastoral Award, with competitive pay based on skills and experience.

We are a small, family-run mixed farming enterprise located on the Darling Downs, Queensland.

The business incorporates cropping for grain and fodder alongside a 2,000-head cattle feedlot.

Our properties are conveniently located approximately 40 minutes from Dalby and 1 hour from Toowoomba, with local primary schools less than 10 minutes away.

Accommodation is available on one of our properties.

• Cropping for grain and fodder

• Operation of tractors, bobcat, loader, spray rig and other farm machinery

• Grain milling and feeding

• Loading and unloading cattle and grain trucks

• Cattle handling and animal health

• Cattle inductions, drafting and mustering

• General farm and machinery maintenance

• Fencing, repairs and general property maintenance

• Assisting with planting, spraying and other seasonal farming operations

• Previous farming and cropping experience

• Sound machinery operating skills

• Experience and confidence working with cattle

• Confident, high-level welding skills

• Ability to work independently and use initiative

• Ability to work effectively as part of a small team

• Reliable, honest and able to take pride in your work

• Good attention to detail

• Willingness to undertake some weekend work and longer hours during busy seasonal periods

• HC/MC truck licence advantageous but not essential

• ChemCert/chemical accreditation advantageous but not essential

• Competitive pay, based on skills and experience
