This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a Station Hand to join the crew at Dry River Station near Katherine, NT in early 2027.

Property Description

Dry River Station is a 65,000-hectare working cattle property located approximately 1.5 hours from Katherine in the Northern Territory. Part of the Paspaley Group’s national agricultural portfolio, the station runs approximately 5,000 Brahman breeding cows, producing progeny for finishing at the Group’s floodplain properties along the Mary River near Darwin.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in cattle work, with mustering carried out using motorbikes, horses and helicopters.

  • Assist with cattle processing, fence maintenance, stock water maintenance, lick distribution and mechanical maintenance.

  • Occasionally travel with the team to the Group’s other stations near Darwin to process cattle for the floodplain properties.

Job Requirements

  • Experience is not essential. A rural background or previous livestock experience would be an advantage, but applicants with a strong willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

  • You must be fit and healthy, have a positive attitude and enjoy working as part of a team.

  • A current driver’s licence and excellent communication skills are essential.

  • You will have a genuine interest in station work and a willingness to commit to the position.

  • Own transport is an advantage, but is not essential.

  • Pets may be welcome, subject to prior discussion and approval.
