We’re looking for an experienced Station Manager to lead operations at Avon Downs – a key breeding station in AACo’s northern portfolio. Located 70km west of Camooweal and 250km northwest of Mount Isa, Avon Downs plays an important role in producing premium cattle for AACo’s Wagyu brands.
As Station Manager at Avon Downs, you’ll take charge of station operations and performance, leading a skilled team to hit production targets and deliver results. You’ll oversee livestock, budgets, and reporting, while driving best practices and keeping strong communication with the Regional Manager.
Avon Downs is situated approximately 70km west of Camooweal, Queensland and 250km Northwest of Mount Isa.
Avon is a breeding property, producing cattle for AACo's Wagyu brands.
Lead and develop a skilled, diverse team to achieve operational excellence.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, partners, and stakeholders.
Manage budgets and P&L, ensuring financial targets are met.
Uphold the highest standards in animal husbandry and welfare.
Oversee capital and project management initiatives.
Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety Guidelines.
Apply grass management tools effectively.
Set and achieve stretch KPIs aligned with company objectives.
Plan and manage daily operations and long-term projects in a fast-paced environment.
Drive innovation and efficiency through technology adoption.
Proven experience managing large-scale northern cattle operations.
Outstanding leadership and people management capabilities.
Extensive experience in intensive cattle operations
Proven ability to deliver strategic initiatives and key projects.
Flexible and adaptable with a strong belief in structure and process.
Exceptional organisational, written, and verbal communication skills.
