Diamond Cattle Co is a family operated cattle breeding & backgrounding business, with properties in Northern, Western & Southern QLD. This position is based on “Warrowa”, 26kms west of Moonie.
Warrowa is a 9,000acre mix of forage cropping, improved pasture & natural grasses used to background approx. 2,500 cattle annually, bound for the feedlots & abattoirs.
Managing/Implementing a cropping & pasture program. The cropping is completed in house, so spraying, sowing crops & working country will be your responsibility
Managing the cattle including all hands-on facets
Completing all machinery/farm maintenance to a high standard
Property infrastructure development
Managing staff, contractors & communicating with all stakeholders to the Warrowa Business
Maintaining a well-presented farm complex
Managing in conjunction with head office the general administration of the property
Some cooking for staff as they move between properties
This is very much a hands-on roll
Extensive experience in farming & operating all types of machinery for preparing, sowing & spraying crops
Extensive experience in machinery maintenance & mechanics
General experience in cattle handling, health and husbandry skills
General experience in farm maintenance, fencing, poly pipe etc
Two & four wheel motorbike riding experience
HC Truck Licence mandatory & MC Truck Licence is preferable
Very good communication & record keeping skills
General administration, computer literacy & bookkeeping skills
Team leading skills to manage & lead staff
Honest, self-motivated, trustworthy & reliable
