Calton Hills Cattle Station is seeking an experienced Station Manager to take full responsibility for the management and performance of this large-scale pastoral operation in north-west Queensland.
This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Board of Directors, with responsibility for leading the station team, overseeing cattle operations, and ensuring the business is run safely, efficiently, and in line with Board direction.

Calton Hills Station is a large, Indigenous-owned pastoral property located approximately one hour north-west of Mount Isa. Covering around 500,000 hectares, the station encompasses a diverse mix of country, supporting large-scale cattle operations across varying landscapes and conditions.

Key Responsibilities
Overall management of station operations, including cattle production, animal welfare, land and pasture management, and infrastructure
Leadership of station staff, including the Head Stockman, and coordination of contractors
Planning and oversight of mustering, branding, weaning, animal health programs, and herd performance
Preparation of operational plans, budgets, and regular reporting to the Board of Directors
Strong focus on WHS, environmental management, and regulatory compliance
Oversight of fencing, waters, plant, machinery, and capital works programs
Engagement with Traditional Owners, neighbours, suppliers, and regulators
Delivery of seasonal programs with a long-term, sustainable approach to country and cattle
Demonstrated experience managing a large cattle station or comparable pastoral enterprise
Proven leadership and people-management capability
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of station economics
High standards in animal welfare, safety, and land stewardship
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with a Board of Directors
Practical, calm operator who can manage pressure in a remote environment
