Leading Hand | Lilla Creek Station | NT

• We seek a motivated, reliable and experienced Leading Hand to help lead our small team.

• Reporting to the station manager, you will be working closely with a small team of 3-5 people and 2 other Crown Point properties undertaking all station duties.

You will be based at Lilla Creek Station which is 430km southeast of Alice Springs in the NT

Crown Point Cattle Co. is an aggregation of 3 privately owned cattle stations south of Alice Springs that run organic cattle. Each station has a committed collaborative team that is focused on the production of quality beef cattle. 

Lilla Creek and Horseshoe Bend is a 9000 square kilometre organic breeding and fattening property in Central Australia. We have a crew of about 7 including managers. We work closely with other nearby Crown Point properties; this provides collaboration and social opportunities. Other regional social events include Aileron Bush weekend, Harts Range races, Alice Springs rodeo, Finke Desert Race, Alice Springs show and Govies Muster

• Mustering and processing of cattle on motorbikes

• Maintenance of vehicles, machinery, bore engines and solar bores

• Soil conservation works

• Bore runs (checking of water levels in cattle tanks and troughs) Cleaning of troughs. Dispersing lick supplements

• Yard building and fencing

• Supervision and training of new and existing staff

• Yard maintenance

• Maintenance and upkeep of shed and living quarters

• Upkeep of homestead complex

• Assembly and disassembly of portable panel yards

• Recording and reporting data

• MC licence or willing to get one

• At least 2 years’ experience as a station hand

• Sound cattle knowledge

• Drivers Licence and the ability to drive a manual car

• Ability to ride a motorbike safely and confidently

• Ability to work alone or in a team

• Comply with health and safety procedures

• Clean & sober habits

• No dogs

• Australian work rights
