The Senior Station Hand role encompasses a range of duties to keep the property running smoothly. This includes maintaining key infrastructure such as water, fences, roads, pumps, and cattle yards.
The role also involves working under the direction of senior management at the neighbouring MDH PTY LTD property, Leitrim, and collaborating with the Leitrim team to manage the intake of background cattle from northern properties, process and oversee them in the paddock, and load out.
Long-term role: not suitable for holiday makers or short-term employment.
Made up of three freehold blocks, Kierawonga Station, this prime central highland fattening property is conveniently located within a few hours' drive of meat works in Rockhampton, approximately 150km to the southeast, and Mackay, approximately 200km to the northeast.
Cattle are trucked from properties in the Cloncurry area and Iffley Station to be grown out on a mixture of buffel grass and leucaena. Kierawonga has a 2,000-3,000 head carrying capacity.

Working under, and collaborating with the Senior Station Management at the neighbouring MDH property - Leitrim Station
Actively participate with mustering
We are seeking a Senior Station Hand to oversee operations at Kierawonga Station:
Grader/machinery operation (previous experience preferred)
General machine/vehicle maintenance (mechanically minded advantageous)
Maintaining watering points, cattle yards, and holding paddock
Experience in managing weeds and feral animals
Experience mustering cattle using horses and/or motorbikes (strong, low-stress stock handling skills are advantageous)
HR truck license advantageous
Initiative and strong work ethic
