Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Feedlot Manager, this is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing cattle induction, livestock processing, animal welfare outcomes and day-to-day livestock operations.

  • Lead and supervise daily livestock operations.

  • Coordinate cattle receivals, induction and processing activities.

  • Train and mentor staff in low stress stock handling techniques.

  • Champion animal welfare and livestock performance outcomes.

  • Ensure compliance with regulations and company systems.

  • Support livestock health programs and cattle management activities.

  • Maintain accurate livestock records and traceability systems.

  • Work closely with the Feedlot Manager to drive operational excellence.

Job Requirements

  • Experience working within feedlot, cattle station or intensive livestock operations.

  • Strong practical cattle handling skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.

  • A sound understanding of animal welfare principles.

  • Experience applying low stress stock handling techniques.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • A proactive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
