Jumbuck is looking for a motivated Station Hand to join our team on one of South Australia’s iconic large-scale sheep stations in the North West pastoral region.

Property Description

Located in the Glendambo and Coober Pedy region and around 120km west of the Stuart Highway, Mulgathing covers 530,000 hectares and runs up to 30,000 Merino sheep.

Situated in 175mm rainfall country, it is well resourced with the station divided into 80 paddocks watered by 32 bores and 156km of pipeline servicing the numerous watering points.

It is in close vicinity to three other Jumbuck stations, allowing for support and inter-station socialising.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Riding 2-wheel motorbikes

  • Sheep mustering and livestock work

  • Water runs

  • Fence repairs and general station maintenance

  • Irrigation work

  • Vehicle and motorbike maintenance

  • Livestock care and animal welfare

  • Helping wherever needed around the station

Job Requirements

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Able to take instruction and work as part of a team

  • Comfortable living remotely and being part of a station community

  • Someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work

  • Motorbike riding ability preferred

  • Interest in sheep and station life
