Livestock Senior Leading Hand | VIC

• Due to strong cattle feeding demand, we are currently seeking an experienced Livestock Senior Leading Hand to join our team.

• The Livestock Senior Leading Hand will work under the Livestock Manager and General Manager to ensure the overall health and welfare status of all animals on the feedlot is maintained.

• With a motivated, hands-on approach, applicants will demonstrate good communication skills and be able to work well in a team environment.

• You will also follow all safety and quality protocols and be absolutely committed to animal welfare. 

• At least 2 years previous experience in a similar role. 

Peechelba Beef, part of the ICM Agribusiness Group, is a 27,000 head feedlot located near Wangaratta in North-East Victoria, feeding cattle for a number of domestic and long fed programs. 

• Leading and motivating a hard-working team

• Feedlot Quality Assurance and animal welfare

• Livestock pharmaceuticals and consumables ordering, use, storage and stocktaking

• Computer literacy and accurate record keeping

• Machinery operation

• Working as part of a hard-working team

• Safe work practices and requirements

Applicants should have experience in:

• A Livestock Leading hand role or similar, in an intensive feedlot environment, for at least 2 years.

• Leading and motivating a hard-working team

• Handling cattle in a manner that promotes their welfare and wellbeing

• Feedlot Quality Assurance and animal welfare

• Livestock pharmaceuticals and consumables ordering, use, storage and stocktaking

• Computer literacy and accurate record keeping

• Machinery operation

• Working as part of a hard-working team

• Safe work practices and requirements

Must be available to work weekends as part of a fortnightly roster.

• Pay rates as per Workplace Agreement
