We are looking for a talented Station hand to join our team in Headingly. Headingly Station, near Urandangie, is located 200 km south-west of Mount Isa.
As the Station Hand you will play an important role in the livestock program, helping with tasks like mustering and processing cattle, monitoring pastures, environmental management, operating and maintaining machinery, and carrying out general station duties and repairs.
Horseback riding and/ or mortorbike experience is required.
Headingly Station, near Urandangie, is located in the Barkly Group, 200km south west of Mount Isa and 35km from Urandangie.
The property is a breeding station producing cattle for AACo’s Wagyu brands. Headingly Station is situated on the Georgina River and comprises mainly open black soil downs country with areas of timbered country (mainly Gidyea) scattered throughout.
Headingly Station is made up of three leases – Headingly (1916), Wolgra (1965), and Carandotta (1985).
Complete general station maintenance.
Mustering, drafting, and trucking of cattle.
Vehicle and machinery operations.
Safely perform your job and take responsibility for your safe work behaviour.
Use of horses and motorbikes.
Feed supplement distribution.
Solid cattle handling experience/ horseback riding/ motorbike mustering experience
Current driver’s licence
Confident in completing all day-to-day station hand tasks
Able to work independently or as part of a team
Great communicator
Good at prioritising and staying calm under pressure
Practical and level-headed approach to solving problems
Q Fever Vaccination.
Previous experience in a similar role.
