Join the team as a Livestock Hand at Bottle Tree Feedlot and play a key role in the daily care, handling, and performance of our livestock.
You will be based at our Stanbroke's 'Bottle Tree' Feedlot, a major large-scale, purpose-designed grain-finishing feedlot located near Chinchilla in the Western Downs region of Queensland, Australia
Stanbroke is a reputable family-owned and operated Australian cattle and beef business. Our operations span across Northern Queensland, with the extensive cattle properties, backgrounding operations in Southern Queensland, state-of-the-art cattle feedlots, a fully accredited beef processing facility and global marketing capabilities. We offer a full range of Grain and Grass-fed beef categories and export to over 40 countries globally.
As a Livestock Hand, you'll support the day-to-day management and welfare of cattle across the feedlot — working closely with an experienced stock team to monitor animal health, assist with cattle movements, and keep the yards safe and clean.
Daily monitoring of cattle across feedlot pens
Riding pens on your own horse to identify animals requiring attention
Assisting with drafting, processing, and cattle movements
Supporting animal health programs under the direction of senior staff
Maintaining clean, safe yards and facilities
Operating plant and equipment as required (training provided)
Following biosecurity and safety procedures
Working collaboratively with the livestock and operations teams
Your own horse, suitable and fit for pen riding
A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
Genuine interest in cattle and agriculture
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills and attention to detail
A reliable, hardworking attitude and willingness to learn

Gulf Maintenance is Stanbroke's dedicated mechanical and infrastructure team based in northern Queensland, responsible for keeping our remote station fleet and equipment operational. Roles include truck drivers and plant operators.
Gulf Air is Stanbroke's aviation team, providing essential aerial support across our operations. The team includes helicopter pilots who muster cattle across our northern cattle stations, as well as fixed-wing pilots covering a wide range of flying across the business.
