Outback Beef is seeking experienced, practical and committed Station Hands to join our team at Yarrie Station.
We have five positions available. Each person will contribute to general station work while spending more time in one of the following specialist areas:
Horsemanship, Shoeing & Stockmanship
Cattle Records & Performance
Mechanical & Infrastructure: welding, mechanics and stock water systems
Branded Beef Sales Team
Nanny & Manager’s General Assistant

Outback Beef's Yarrie Station is a 250,000-hectare rangelands property situated north of Marble Bar in Western Australia. The station is made up of the mighty De Grey River and her grass-covered floodplains with rolling hills of spinifex and acacia.
With deep, mineral rich, ancient soils and breathtaking hills full of secret water holes and gorges...quite simply the station is a bloody beautiful to behold!
Duties will vary depending on your specialist role, with everyone contributing to general station work as required.
Horsemanship, Shoeing & Stockmanship
Mustering on horseback, yard work and weaner handling.
Horse care, handling and shoeing.
Supporting good livestock handling practices.
Cattle Records & Performance
Maintaining accurate cattle records using Excel.
Recording and monitoring cattle performance information.
Supporting livestock operations and general station duties.
Mechanical & Infrastructure
Welding, mechanical repairs and machinery maintenance.
Maintaining stock water systems and station infrastructure.
Fencing, general repairs and operating machinery.
Branded Beef Sales Team
Helping with Outback Beef’s branded beef sales.
Supporting the sales team alongside general station responsibilities.
Nanny & Manager’s General Assistant
Providing childcare and supporting the Manager with day-to-day tasks.
Assisting with homestead care and general duties as required.
Shared station duties may also include landcare, biodiversity and bilby monitoring, maintenance and helping other team members when needed.
Relevant skills and experience in one of the five specialist areas.
A practical approach and willingness to pitch in across station duties.
Passion for the northern cattle industry and a commitment to long-term employment.
Respect for your teammates, livestock and country.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
An interest in developing your skills, with opportunities for future leadership.
An interest in biodiversity (Bilby care) and landcare.
A manual driver’s licence is preferred.
Strong horse riding, shoeing and stockmanship skills are required for the horsemanship role. Excel skills are required for the cattle records role.
