We are seeking a capable and proactive Maintenance Manager to lead all plant, infrastructure, and facility maintenance activities across the Wonga Plains Aggregation.
Reporting directly to the Wonga Plains Asset Manager, this role is critical to ensuring asset reliability, operational efficiency, and safe, compliant operations across the feedlot, farming, and backgrounding systems.
This position will be based at our Wonga Plains Feedlot, located 15 minutes from Bowenville QLD.
The Maintenance Manager will coordinate all maintenance activities across the asset, implement and lead a proactive preventative maintenance program, and oversee pen maintenance and pen cleaning operations. This role requires strong technical capability, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead small teams while coordinating both internal and external trades to deliver timely, cost-effective outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee all plant and equipment maintenance activities across the Wonga Plains asset
Develop, implement, and continuously improve a preventative maintenance program to maximise asset uptime and minimise unplanned downtime
Lead and supervise pen maintenance and cleaning team activities to ensure safety, animal welfare, and operational efficiency
Direct the day-to-day management and coordination of internal maintenance staff and external tradespersons
Plan and schedule maintenance work to align with feedlot, farming, and livestock operational requirements
Assist in the delivery of capital works, major repairs, and asset replacement projects, including contractor coordination and commissioning support
Provide hands-on leadership of small teams, setting clear expectations, prioritising work, and ensuring accountability
Establish and maintain effective spare parts systems, balancing asset reliability, lead times, and working capital efficiency
Ensure maintenance activities are completed in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements, manufacturer specifications, and company procedures
Maintain accurate maintenance records, schedules, and reporting to support budgeting, planning, and continuous improvement
Work closely with the Asset Manager and broader site leadership team to support whole-of-asset performance
Formal trade qualification desirable; however, proven maintenance leadership experience across complex plant and infrastructure will be considered
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience maintaining plant, machinery, and infrastructure
Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate internal teams and external contractors effectively
Experience leading small teams in a practical, hands-on environment
Strong problem-solving skills with a solutions-focused mindset
High standard of organisation, planning, and attention to detail
Commitment to safety, compliance, and best-practice maintenance standards
Ability to work autonomously while collaborating closely with the Asset Manager and site leadership team
A key leadership role within a large, modern feedlot and agricultural aggregation
Direct reporting line to the Wonga Plains Asset Manager with clear accountability and support
