Roper River Transport is seeking an experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Mataranka. The role involves servicing, diagnosing, and repairing a range of light vehicles and fleet support equipment to ensure reliability and safety in remote operating conditions.
Roper River Transport operates a busy, well-equipped workshop based in Mataranka, Northern Territory, supporting transport and logistics services across the Roper Gulf region and remote communities. The workshop provides comprehensive maintenance and repair services for a mixed fleet, including light vehicles, trucks, trailers, and support equipment used in freight and contracting operations.
We have Auto Electricians, Tyre Fitter, Heavy Diesel Mechanics as well as Light vehicle Mechanics and Truck Dirvers. Our workshop is located on the Stuart Highway and is the only workshop in this area. We have 4 bays as well as a Truck workshop located at our transport yard.
Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on light vehicles and support plant
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
Maintain accurate service records and work within safety standards
Assist with breakdowns and field repairs as needed
Trade qualification (Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent)
Proven min 2 years' experience in a similar role
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
TOYOTA experience
Current driver’s licence (HR desirable)
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Have your own tools and vehicle
