PKKP Aboriginal Corporation is seeking an experienced and motivated Manager, Pastoral Station to oversee the day-to-day operation of one of our pastoral properties in the Pilbara.
This is more than a station management role. Our pastoral station is a strategic asset that supports PKKP's long-term vision for caring for Country, creating opportunities for our people, and managing our land sustainably.
Working in a remote, live-in environment, you will lead station operations while maintaining high standards of livestock management, property maintenance, environmental stewardship and workplace safety.
Single applicants are equally encouraged to apply and will be considered for the full Manager role, but we also welcome applications from couples. One partner may undertake the Manager, Pastoral Station role, while the other fills a complementary Caretaker position, supporting station administration, hospitality, accommodation, homestead maintenance and general station operations.
The station is located in the Southern Pilbara, is approximately 197,000 hectares and is carrying about 1200head of brahman cattle.
You will be responsible for:
Managing the day-to-day operations of the pastoral station.
Livestock management, including mustering, yard work, drafting, animal health and transport.
Maintaining fencing, water infrastructure, roads and station assets.
Operating and maintaining station vehicles, plant and machinery.
Monitoring land condition, weeds and environmental management activities.
Maintaining accurate station records and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and pastoral lease requirements.
Building respectful relationships with PKKP Traditional Owners and supporting PKKP's commitment to caring for Country.
To be successful, you will have:
Practical livestock handling and mustering experience.
Sound skills in station maintenance, fencing and basic mechanical repairs.
Experience operating station plant and machinery.
The ability to work independently in a remote environment.
A current manual driver's licence.
A genuine appreciation for rural living and sustainable land management.
