Akubra is seeking reliable and motivated Production Workers to join its manufacturing team in Kempsey, NSW.
As a Production Worker at Akubra, you will play an important hands-on role in manufacturing one of Australia’s most iconic products.
Working alongside an experienced team of skilled craftspeople, you will learn processes and techniques that have been passed down through generations. You will contribute to different stages of the hat-making process, helping transform raw materials into the finished Akubra hats known and trusted across Australia.
Multiple opportunities are available across the Kempsey facility, with each position contributing to the production of Akubra’s iconic Australian hats.
No previous manufacturing experience is required, with full training provided. What matters most is that you are willing to learn, work as part of a team and take pride in producing quality work.
You will be based onsite at Akubra’s Kempsey facility, 4.5hrs north of Sydney, NSW.

Your responsibilities may include:
Performing a range of hands-on manufacturing and production tasks across the hat-making process
Following established production processes, procedures and work instructions
Operating production equipment and machinery safely and correctly
Handling, preparing and working with materials used to manufacture Akubra hats
Contributing to different stages of the hat-making process
Checking work to ensure Akubra’s quality standards are maintained
Working efficiently to meet daily production requirements
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area
Following workplace health and safety requirements
Working collaboratively with supervisors and other members of the production team
Supporting the team wherever required within the production facility
You will ideally have:
A willingness to learn new skills and manufacturing processes
A strong work ethic and reliable approach
The ability to undertake hands-on, physical work
The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality
A positive attitude and team-focused approach
The ability to follow instructions, procedures and safety requirements
Reliable transport to Akubra’s Kempsey facility for each scheduled shift
Full Australian working rights
Previous manufacturing or production experience is welcome but not required, as full training will be provided.
