Are you a mechanic who loves the smell of fresh mangoes as much as you love getting grease on your hands?

The Lucas Group is looking for a skilled and proactive Farm Mechanic to join our client's dynamic team on their thriving mango farm in Katherine, NT.

You’ll be the go-to person for keeping farm machinery, vehicles and equipment safe, reliable and ready for work. From engines and hydraulics to welding and electrical repairs, you’ll help keep the farm running smoothly and minimise downtime during the busy season. You’ll also work closely with the wider farm team as part of a practical, safety-first workplace.

📍 20 minutes from Katherine, NT

• Maintain and service a variety of vehicles, orchard, and harvest equipment. (Petrol & diesel)

• Maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair machinery to minimise downtime.

• Service and repair light vehicles, including brakes, steering, suspension and transmissions.

• Calibrate precision systems and machinery settings for harvest.

• Respond to repairs and breakdowns across the farm as needed.

• Work with the farm team to keep machinery ready for daily production.

• Help improve maintenance systems, equipment reliability and workshop standards.

• Certificate III in Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)

• 3+ years relevant experience with tractors, harvesters, or ag machinery

• Sound knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics and hydraulics

• Valid driver's licence (C class minimum)

• Strong physical fitness for outdoor work in varying conditions

• Solutions-focused, detail-oriented and a genuine team player

• Confident with hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment

• A strong safety mindset and attention to detail

• Based in, or willing to relocate to, Katherine, NT

• Competitive salary: $90,000–$115,000 (based on experience)
