Camm Agricultural Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Head Stockman to join our team and take a leading role in the day-to-day management of livestock operations on our progressive cattle property in our North Queensland Aggregation.
The Head Stockman will be responsible for overseeing livestock handling, supervising a livestock team, and ensuring high standards of animal welfare, safety, and operational efficiency across the aggregation.
Our North Queensland Aggregation, comprising of Natal Downs & Longton Stations (390,600Ha in total), is made up of breeder and backgrounder country with ongoing farming development. This is the grass raised cattle powerhouse of Camm Agricultural Group & is currently carrying 32,600head.
Lead and supervise stock crew in daily operations.
Coordinate mustering, drafting, weighing, and processing of cattle.
Monitor livestock health and welfare and assist with treatment programs.
Train and mentor junior station staff.
·Maintain accurate livestock records.
Ensure safe operation of horses, motorbikes, vehicles, and livestock equipment.
Assist with fencing, water infrastructure, and general station maintenance.
Work closely with management to achieve production and operational targets.
Proven experience in a senior stockman or head stockman role.
Strong cattle handling and horsemanship skills.
Ability to lead a team and work independently.
Sound understanding of animal welfare and workplace safety practices.
Current driver's licence (essential).
Mechanical and station maintenance skills highly regarded.
