Smithfield are currently seeking an experienced  Livestock Hand/ Pen Rider  at our Smithfield Feedlot near Proston. Someone who has a genuine interest in the Feedlot industry and is willing to commit to our mission of producing top-quality beef for our customers.  You will be joining a team responsible for the daily welfare and husbandry of the cattle in our care. Proston is located 280 kilometres north-west of Brisbane.

The Stock Administrator is responsible for maintaining accurate livestock records, coordinating stock movements, and supporting daily feedlot and yard operations. This role combines office-based administration with regular on-yard duties to ensure smooth operations, compliance with industry standards, and high standards of animal welfare.  Due to the demands of the cattle industry, flexibility to work additional hours during busy periods is essential. 

Whyalla Beef currently has opportunities available for  Livestock Team Members and Pen Riders  to join our team at our large commercial feedlot located approximately 25km from Texas in southern Queensland. Following our recent expansion, the site now has a capacity of 75,000 head, making it one of Australia’s largest commercial feedlots. This is a practical outdoor role suited to people who enjoy working with cattle and being part of a hardworking supportive team. Positions may involve pen riding and/or livestock duties, depending on experience and skills.
